Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced School Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) for a full-time position with school districts in Birmingham, AL. Requirements:
To apply for this position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Active Alabama State Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Experience working as an SLP in a school or educational setting preferred
- Ability to pass background checks as required by state and local regulations
- Valid Alabama Drivers License (if required for travel between campuses)
Responsibilities:
As a School SLP, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to students with speech and language disorders
- Assess and diagnose communication disorders, including articulation, language processing, and fluency
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of students
- Implement therapy sessions individually or in small groups and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create effective learning strategies and support communication development
- Maintain comprehensive records of evaluations, therapy plans, and progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide updates on student goals and progress
- Offer guidance and professional development to school staff on supporting students with speech and language challenges
- Ensure compliance with school district and state requirements for documentation and reporting
